Harriet Kerr Limited identifies the key aspirations and concerns of local politicians and their constituents regarding development proposals and policies. We demonstrate to local politicians that the views of their constituents have been taken into account as proposals are developed.
Political Research
- We identify the members of a Local Planning Authority who are likely to be interested in a client’s planning application.
- We identify external groups and individuals (both elected and non-elected) who are likely to be interested in, or affected by, a client’s development proposals.
- We identify the issues that are likely to be important to them.
- Report based on research findings includes comprehensive recommendations for action.
Local Ward Member Liaison
- We liaise with Local Ward Members regarding the site of a client’s proposed development, to identify the factors they believe that their constituents would like taken into account as development proposals are evolved.
- We review communications and public consultation programmes regarding development proposals with Local Ward Members, to ensure that all relevant audiences are reached and appropriate information provided.
- Where appropriate, we liaise with Local Ward Members on LDF representations and local planning policies.
Supporting Information
- We review and comment on technical information submitted in support of a planning application (for example, a Transport Assessment), to ensure that it addresses issues of importance to councillors and their constituents.
- In close consultation with a client and a client’s other specialist advisers on a project, we respond swiftly to any councillor queries or requests for information.
